Hello everyone, and happy Sunday!
It’s important to take some time to relax, unwind and refresh your mind. On Sundays I like to take a break and spend some time away from social media. Today’s post is a day-in-the-life of my average Sunday. 😊
Read a book
I like to read for about 30 minutes to an hour when I wake up, obviously I can’t do this everyday so it feels like such a luxury when I can, and it’s a nice, calm, quiet way to start the morning and get my brain working. I also practise my Duolingo for about 10 to 15 minutes, I like to get it done first thing in the morning so I don’t forget. I guess you could say I’m pretty dedicated to it, I’ve been using it for nearly five years now and it really helped boost my French grade and inspired me to learn other languages too such as Dutch and Swedish, my streak is currently at 793 so I’m really proud of myself for not giving up and starting again as I lost my previous streak at 750 days.
On Sundays I like to treat myself to my favourite cereal, which for me is Cookie Crisp. Sometimes I like to have something different like a croissant or a toasted tea cake, my favourites are from M&S, but I haven’t been able to go there recently because of lockdown, so that’s one of the things I’m looking forward to! On Sundays I also like to watch something for an hour or two like a movie, drama or documentary during breakfast and have a nice slow morning.
I love to bake! I find it so relaxing mixing the ingredients together, watching it bake in the oven and decorating it afterwards. I also really love the smell of warm cookies; it makes me feels so warm and cosy.
Chat with my family & friends
As I can’t go see my family and friends, I like to chat with them on FaceTime (or something similar). For my family we’ve figured out a weekly schedule, almost like video-chat appointments! 😂 But, it’s really nice getting to see them and catchup on how they’re doing.
I’m going to sound *very* British when I say this, but on Sundays I love a Sunday roast! It’s actually my favourite meal of the week. I have chicken, stuffing, mini sausages, roast potatoes, veg (usually carrots and peas) and a Yorkshire pudding with gravy. 😋
Watch a movie
For an afternoon snack I like to try what I’ve baked earlier that morning whilst watching a movie, and maybe read a couple of blogposts.
Paint my nails
I love painting my nails whilst watching a show or some YouTube, but I don’t always get the time to. I find it so relaxing and I love the cold sensation of the nail varnish on my nails. 😌 I also really enjoy trying out new colours, and sometimes having a go at nail art.
I’ll then have a sandwich, usually with leftover chicken from the roast, with some crisps and water, and watch another show, or maybe play a board game if I can convince my family to join in. 😂
A warm bath
I like to have a bath about an hour or two after I paint my nails, as it helps to soak off any little bits of nail varnish than went over the edge of my nail. It’s one of my favourite things to do in the evening as it makes me feel all fresh and clean. I’m not really a bath bomb kinda person, my skin is quite sensitive, so I usually just stick to bubble bath, but the swirling and fizzing colours look super cool and relaxing! I also like to listen to my favourite music, does anyone feel like they sing so much better in the shower or bath? 😂
Drawing or Crafts
After I’ve brushed my hair, I like to do some drawing or continue with the friendship bracelet I’m working on and watch some YouTube or another show.
For some reason no matter how much sleep I get I still feel tired 😴 but it’s important to try and get enough sleep to keep your immune system strong.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post! How do you like to spend your Sunday? And what are your favourite activities to relax?
