Blogging, YouTube

I’ve started my own YouTube channel!

Yes, you read that right, yesterday I officially launched my YouTube channel! And as of this morning my first video is now live!

This weekend has been full of big changes for my blog. You may have noticed that I have rebranded my blog and the site address has changed from www.princessemilym.wordpress.com to www.lilacdaisies.co.uk

This is a big change that I have been planning for a while, and I’ve actually had the logos and banners ready for a couple of months. For a while now I’ve been thinking about upgrading my website or going self hosted (mainly as I’m running out of media storage on my site but also because I wanted to secure my web address for the future) and on Thursday I took the big step! I had an email with a 50% off code from WordPress, ending at midnight that day, and after a lot of thinking I decided to just go for it!

I have access to a couple of extra features now and I’m currently planning some exciting new content for the new year. There are also a couple of little tweaks that I still want to do and some admin work in the background of the site, so you may see a few more changes to my site over the next few weeks, which I hope will make it feel more organised and easier to find my posts.

I’m also super excited to say my first ever YouTube video premiered earlier this morning! You may remember me mentioning on Instagram that I filmed a few clips whilst I painted Cinderella’s Pumpkin Carriage for my previous blogpost. I’ll be adding a link to the video to the blogpost, and it would make my day if you’d give it a watch. Relax and paint along with me as I show you how I recreated Cinderella’s Pumpkin Carriage to add to my Halloween decorations.

Sometimes I have found for my craft tutorials it would be easier to explain the process with a video so you can actually see what I’m doing, and then you can also craft along with me. I’m really excited to start filming more videos to go alongside my blog, including craft and sewing tutorials, bake with me, and fashion videos.

So for the future I’m hoping to do a mixture of both videos and blogposts. I’m still going to continue posting weekly on my blog, on Saturdays at 4pm BST. I don’t have a set day yet for posting to my channel, I’m thinking if the video relates to the blogpost that’s going up that week, then I’ll post them both on the same Saturday, however if they’re different I’ll likely put the video up either Friday or Sunday. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.

Thank you so much for supporting me, I’m so so grateful to be a part of such an amazing blogging community and to have met so many lovely and awesome people along the way. If you like reading my blogposts, please subscribe to my YouTube channel, and hit the notification bell to be notified when my next video is posted. I’m really excited to start creating more content, and for the future of both my blog and my channel.

I also have another blogpost going up today at 4pm, I’m going to be sharing my recipe for some spooky cupcakes, a perfect bake for Halloween and spooky season. So, stay tuned and I’ll see you back here soon!

Congratulations on your new YouTube channel Emily! I had one a couple of years ago but decided I was more invested in blogging. Best of luck gal 🦋
