Hello everyone!
It’s Christmas Eve and time for my final craft of 12 Crafts of Christmas 2021! As a tradition every year on Christmas Eve we hang up our stockings for Santa. In todays post I’m going to show you how to make a reversible mini Christmas stocking that would make a sweet way to package small presents such as candy canes, lip glosses and nail polishes that could be used again and again or hung on the Christmas tree.
You will need:
- My stocking template
- Paper scissors
- 3 different fabric designs
- Pins
- Fabric scissors
- Lace, sequins, embroidery thread etc. for embellishment
- Thread
- Sewing needle
- Sewing machine (you don’t need one but it’s a lot quicker to sew if you do)

Using scissors cut out the paper templates.

Pin and cut two stockings from your main fabric, two stockings from the lining fabric, and two of the square from your contrast fabric.

Add your design using embroidery floss, sequins etc.

Stitch the top of a main fabric stocking to one edge of a contrast fabric square.

Then stitch a lining stocking to the opposite edge of the contrast fabric so that it mirrors the first stocking.

Repeat with the other three fabric pieces to mirror.

Place the two pieces on top of each other, with right sides together pin and sew around the edge, catching a ribbon loop in the seam of the main fabric stocking, and leaving a 5cm gap on the lining fabric side.

Turn through at the gap we left in the lining fabric so that the right sides are visible, then hand stitch the gap closed before tucking the lining back inside the stocking.

And your stocking is complete!
